Feb. 15th, 2008 12:18 amWell, I got a nudge from
purebloodgryff a couple of days ago. I was going to post the day after I got it, but I passed it up, and now today.
My new boss at my new job was killed in a car accident last night. Apparently, there was a wreck on 65 that caused traffic to stop and he was parked behind a semi when someone plowed right into him without stopping. He passed away at about 4 am. He had two kids, 18 and 20. He was a good guy, and that the most is what I mourn. He made it a point to say good morning to everyone in the mailroom and shake their hand. I was probably one of the last people to see him alive, as I left work late last night. I saw him working and I almost - almost - turned around and said good night to him, but I figured that I would see him in the morning.
And I never will get to say good night. All because someone didn't pay attention while driving and ran into Jack at 80 miles an hour, crushing his car against the back of a semi.
Needless to say, everyone was a mess today, and now I'm hitting the good crying jag. You ask why, but there are no answers to that question. It is what it is.
